Sponsoring STEM Day For Girls!

It’s no mystery that women are underrepresented in activities, industries, and fields like: science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The 3D printing eco-system is yet another industry in technology that is struggling to get women on board.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women make up 47% of the total U.S. workforce, but comprise only 8.3% of electrical and electronic engineers, and 7.2% of mechanical engineers. That’s why we are proud to say that Sculpteo sponsored STEM Day for Girls. The objective of this organization (and many others like it) is to expose young girls to these activities early and often so that as they grow they develop an interest for these types of careers.
