The Menger-Sierpinski sponge is a fractal object first described by Austrian mathematician Karl Menger in 1926.Each face of the cube is a Sierpinski carpet, described by Waclaw Sierpinski in 1916. This fractal is a square divided into 9 equal squares (a 3-by-3 grid) with the central square removed. The procedure is repeated ad infinitum to the remaining eight squares.
